On this album, we took a big step from purely instrumental rock music towards writing songs. It also marked a shift in our recording process, from live takes to a way more production-oriented approach.
Himmelrum's music is an odyssey. Their songs develop, envelop, and unfold into colorful, glitchy, ethereal aural sculptures. Stylistically they can be described as using post-rock, shoegaze and krautrock in their palette, but Himmelrum adds something that is difficult to define… On their album, Vand, død & ensomhed, the band's exploratory energy feels unadulterated, innocent, yet fully-formed.
